About: Landhi Korangi Zoo

Korangi zoo, situated in the Landhi town of Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan, is a zoological park established in 1990. It is about 4 acres (16,000 sqm) in size and contains fewer animals than the Karachi Zoo. The zoo is a member of SAARC and operates under the Karachi City District Government. In 2006, the Landhi Korangi Zoo received four million Pakistani Rupees, particularly introducing new animals with a pair of lions. Karachi Zoo management also provided: Two straight zebra teams. A red-necked wallaby male and two females. ● One couple of Arab oryx. ● Two pairs of ostrich.

About: Landhi Korangi Aquarium

Construction plans were approved by the city Nazim in November 2004 for an aquarium, which had been in place since 1992. Muhammad Hussain Syed, the KMC administrator, told The Nation that construction was underway fast inside the Landhi Korangi Zoo in June of 2012. The Sindh Governor Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan later opened the Landhi Korangi Aquarium as one of Pakistan’s biggest aquariums to date.
