About: Shamspir Island

Shamspir is an island close to Karachi, Pakistan, near Sandspit Beach and Kakapir on the west side of Karachi Bay. It is controlled within the western district of Karachi. About five thousand people are now living on this island. The land is surrounded by dense forests of Mangroves that grow in the harbor. Shams Pir is considered a Mazar of Hazrat Sham Pir on the island. The Shams Pir is an old town that follows Karachi’s formal establishment, including Bhit Shah Island and Baba Island. Citizens from Baba and Bhit Islands have helped to settle Shams Pir. During the British period, some Mithadar and Kharadar in Shams Pir during the construction of the Karachi harbor.
