About: Holy Trinity Cathedral

This Cathedral is the seat of the Church of Pakistan, situated on Fatima Jinnah Road, close to Zainab Market, in Karachi.
Set up in 1844 and opened in 1855, this church situated on Fatima Jinnah Road, Karachi, is one of the region’s main significant churches. Planned by the Captain of the Bombay Engineers, John Hill, it had a nave extending 115 feet, trailed by a tower which is 150 feet tall. The song structure had a Romanesque format which made it stand unique from other designs situated around. As there were no other beacons at the top of the pinnacle, it was given a beacon to help ships in the Karachi Harbor. In 1904, Chief Engineer John Brunton and Captain John Hill checked the structure and realized that it gave indications of weakness, removing the top two floors, giving the pinnacle another height of 115 feet. During World War I, the tower was utilized for signaling. Since it was previously a garrison church for the British army, it was intended to have 800 people.
